We share the video made by Goya Producciones because of the launch of the app “Keys to Bioethics” during WYD Panama 2019.

On the occasion of this WYD, the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation and the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life, have joined forces to launch for free the app “Keys to Bioethics”, which makes all content of the ‘Bioethics Manual for young people’ available, of which the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation itself has already carried out four editions, completed with the vision of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. The App, available now in Android and soon in iOS, is accessible in Spanish, Italian and English.

The President of the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation, Jean-Marie Le Méné, claimed: “We are very proud of the trust that the Church has placed in our Foundation in such a delicate matter, which requires serious reflection and a great deal of intellectual honesty, such as bioethics. Collaborating with the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life has given us a wonderful opportunity to offer young people around the world the fruits of many years of reflections on the value of life, of all human life, especially that of those in a situation of greater vulnerability, which requires a very firm protection”. The Jérôme Lejeune Foundation accumulates a long experience in caring for patients with intellectual disabilities of genetic origin, particularly people with Down’s syndrome, for whom it has a specialized medical center in Paris.

From the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and the Life of the Vatican, the hope is that young people have an instrument capable of demonstrating them that faith decisively illuminates the human reason in everyday decisions. Today, it is more necessary than ever to refine the most important concepts of defense of human life against the risk of a “science without conscience”, in the words of Jérôme Lejeune himself, a French geneticist doctor who discovered the genetic cause of Down’s syndrome and was first president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, under the mandate of Saint John Paul II.
